The company BMG LABTECH has no influence on the type or extent of the data processed by Twitter, nor on the manner of processing, utilization, or relay of these data to third parties. Nor does it have any effective means of control in this respect. When you use its service, Twitter Inc. collects, transmits, stores, discloses, and uses your personal information, besides transmitting this information to the United States, Ireland, and any other country in which Twitter Inc. has business operations, for storage and use there as well, regardless of your place of residence. In this context, Twitter firstly processes your voluntarily entered data such as proper name and user name, e-mail address, telephone number, and the contacts of your address book if you upload or synchronize it. In addition, Twitter evaluates the content you share to determine which topics you are interested in, stores and processes confidential messages which you send directly to other users, and is able to determine your location via GPS data, wireless network information, or your IP address to send you ads or other content.

Twitter Inc. may use analysis tools such as Twitter Analytics or Google Analytics for evaluation. In addition, BMG LABTECH has no way of preventing or stopping the use of such tools on its Twitter account.

Finally, Twitter also receives information when you view content, for example, even if you haven't created an account. These log data can include IP address, browser type, operating system, information about the website and pages you previously accessed, your location, your mobile service provider, the device (including device and application IDs), and search terms you use, as well as and cookie information.

Via Twitter buttons or widgets integrated into websites and the use of cookies, Twitter is able to record your visits to these websites and assign them to your Twitter profile. These data can be used to offer content or ads tailored to you. Being a non-European service provider with a European subsidiary only in Ireland, Twitter Inc. according to its own interpretation is not bound by German data privacy rules. This applies, for example, to your rights to obtain information, block or delete data, and object to the utilization of usage data for advertising purposes.

You can restrict the processing of your data via the general settings of your Twitter account and the section on data privacy and security. You can also restrict Twitter's access to contact and calendar data, photos, location data, etc. via the settings of mobile devices (smartphones, tablet computers).
