Pipettor

A unique feature found on BMG LABTECH’s multidetection microplate reader NOVOstar (see figure) is its plate to plate micro pipettor. This pipettor bestows several advantages on the NOVOstar that is not found on any other microplate reader. Better still, it is an affordable alternative to HTS cell screening systems on the market that have similar functions.

The NOVOstar’s micro-pipettor is simple to use and allows for accurate and precise transfer of samples from one plate to another. The user sets up a reagent plate and a measurement plate to their specifications, defines the parameters in the software, and walks away, only to return to quality data. If the user requires a wash step or the addition of a reagent to all of the wells, there is a separate reagent box with two additional pumps to accomplish this (see figure).
These factors make the NOVOstar ideal for fast kinetic assays such as calcium measurement, for ELISAs that require a washing step, for EC50 determinations, or for dose response curves.
