Advanced TRF Optic Head

POLARstar OMega with Advanced Assay Technology
The Omega series of microplate readers can perform measurements in fluorescence intensity, time-resolved fluorescence, luminescence and UV/Vis spectromter based absorbance as well as a diverse array of advanced  assays with two additional advanced modes. TR-FRET can be added to a FLUOstar Omega or POLARstar Omega microplate reader that has fluorescence intensity and AlphaScreen® can be added to an Omega microplate reader that has luminescence (fluorescence intensity and luminescence can be added anytime to the SPECTROstar Omega or LUMIstar Omega).

Advanced Performance Time-Resolved Fluorescence Including TR-FRETip one advanced assay technology

The FLUOstar Omega and POLARstar Omega have a standard time-resolved fluorescence mode. Advanced performance time-resolved fluorescence, including TR-FRET, is part of the Omega microplate reader's optional Advanced Assay Technology package. This advanced assay mode uses an optical reading head that incorporates an assay specific dichroic mirror. Combined with the high intensity xenon flash lamp, assay optimized filters and adjustable gain, the Omega series of microplate readers outperforms any microplate reader in the mid-range market in all TR-FRET technologies, including:

The image to the right shows a schematic diagram of the GPCR HTplex® assay principle from Cisbio. IP-One and cAMP are measured together in an HTRF® format using Lumi 4-TbTM cryptate as a donor, along with red and green dyes as acceptors. The Omega series wwith Advanced Assay Technology improves performance in all TR-FRET assays.

AlphaScreen principleAdvanced Performance AlphaScreen® and AlphaLISA®

BMG LABTECH engineers have designed a specialized measurement mode and optical system to provide the Omega microplate readers with AlphaScreen® and AlphaLISA® performance that rivals any HTS microplate reader. For the first time, experience fantastic AlphaScreen® and AlphaLISA® results on a mid-range microplate reader. In the graphic to the left you can see a schematic diagram of the AlphaScreen® assay principle as it relates to a tyrosine kinase screen (SA - Streptavidin). The Omega with Advanced Assay Technology greatly improves performance in all AlphaScreen® and AlphaLISA® assays.

Life Science Advanced Assays

Non-radiological technologies such as TRF, TR-FRET and AlphaScreen® are a mainstay in HTS drug discovery laboratories. Now with the Omega series of microplate readers and its advanced assay technology capabilities, these technologies are available to any general life science laboratory. Here are but a few of the life
science areas that can be intricately studied using these technologies:Advanced Assay Technolgies Graph
