The Best Drug Discovery Product 2010, FLUOstar Omega, is a multi-mode microplate reader featuring BMG LABTECH's unique Tandem Technology. It utilizes high speed UV/Vis spectrometer based absorbance and ultra sensitive filter-based detection in all detection modes such as:

Advanced Assay Technology Package for the FLUOstar Omega:
BMG LABTECH engineers have designed a specialized measurement mode and optical system to provide the Omega multimode microplate readers with AlphaScreen® / AlphaLISA® performance that rivals any HTS microplate reader. For the first time, experience fantastic AlphaScreen® / AlphaLISA® performance on a mid-range multi-mode microplate reader.
Furthermore, Advanced Performance TRF is part of the Omega's optional Advanced Assay Technology Package. It utilizes an optional high-end TRF optical reading head that incorporates an assay specific dichroic mirror. Combined with the high intensity xenon flash lamp, assay optimized filters and adjustable gain, the Omega high-end TRF reading head allows the Omega to outperform any microplate reader in the mid-range market.

- Unique gas control functions via the microprocessor controlled Atmospheric Control Unit (ACU), which allows for fully regulated individual control of O2 (1% to 19%) and CO2 (0% to 20%) within the microplate reader. Alternatively, BMG LABTECH offers an additional purge gas vent to replace the internal atmosphere of the microplate reader chamber with an inert gas (e.g. CO2, Ne or Ar).
- With the LVis Plate, the FLUOstar Omega micropalte reader is also capable of measuring low volume samples in a simple absorbance assay like DNA, RNA and protein concentration. The LVis Plate can measure 16 low volume samples such as DNA, RNA, or Protein. In addition, the built-in cuvette holder allows for larger sample measurements, while the optional quality control optical density (OD) and holmium oxide filters are fantastic for verifying instrument performance testing
